Congratulations to all the athletes who competed at the State Championship meet. The Boys' Team had a tremendous day, finishing in a tie for 3rd place with Southeast Raleigh.

The 4x800 Relay Team of seniors Patrick Moakley, Scott Hefner, Doug Black and Zak Roshdy started the day with a 2nd place finish, coming in less than a second behind national power New Bern. In doing so they took another four seconds off their school record and ran the 4th fastest time in state history.

Zak came back to capture the 1600 gold in dramatic fashion, surging past two runners in the final 80 meters of the race for the win. Scott added a 5th place finish in the same race.

Patrick used his signature kick in the final 200 meters of the 800m Run to add a 4th place medal.

In the 3200m Run, Bryan Spreitzer ran a scorching final lap to take 4th place, just missing Zak's school record.

It was an outstanding day for the Boys' program and great finish to the high school careers of a talented group of seniors.
