We saw some of the toughest competition so far this season at the tri-meet with Apex and Fuquay. Despite fielding a very young team, we are continuing to make improvements and build a strong foundation.
Alex Yozzi and Malik Forte led the way for the boys. Although Alex suffered an unfortunate injury in the pole vault he was having a great meet and equaled his PR of 11 feet, an outstanding mark for someone who has only been vaulting for a short time. Malik placed in three events to keep up a strong rookie season.
On the girls' side, Sarah Alexander and Maya Kruse both recorded individual wins in the 1600 Run and 300 Hurdles, respectively. Shewit Weldense placed 2nd in the 1600 and joined Sarah in recording regional qualifying times.
