Congratulations to all the athletes who completed at the Phoenix High School Classic today held at Elon University. We had some great performances from members of both the boys' (results) and girls' (results) teams. The girls used three first place performances (including two 1-2 sweeps) to springboard toward the team championship for the meet.

Will Hulbert and John Mangum continued to have success in the pole vault. Will took first place while John was third. Ben Girodias ran a PR in the 3200 to take 4th place and qualify for regionals.

Lauren Colberg led the efforts for the girls' team by winning the 800 in a school and meet record time of 2:18.43, as well as running a leg on the winning 4x400 relay team along with Cameron Inglis, Maya Worth, and Monica Greene. Alexia Lipscombe added our other individual title by winning the pole vault with a regional qualifying effort. Rayna Yvars placed second in the pole vault, while Erica Amatori was second in the 800. Erica also ran under the previous meet record, and both she and Lauren qualified for regionals. Emily Boesch contributed important team points by placing 6th in the 1600 and 5th in the 3200. Emily and Shewit Weldense both ran regional qualifying times in the 1600, where Shewit placed fifth.
