We had our first meet of the outdoor season today with a tri-meet against Apex and Fuquay. The girls placed 2nd as a team (results) while the boys were third (results).

Will Hulbert won the pole vault while John Mangum and Miles Brown earned 2nd place finishes in the pole vault and triple jump respectively. Will and John both qualified for regionals. DeMario Williams added a 3rd place finish in the 400, while Akwasi Sarpong placed 3rd in the 300 hurdles.

In the girls' competition, we had four athletes each earn 1st and 2nd place finishes. Monica Greene broke her own school record en route to a victory in the 400, and then put her name at the top of the school's all-time 200m list later on. Monica's 400 effort qualified her for regionals. Olivia Enright and Jessie Rossabi went 1-2 in the 1600 with Olivia running a personal best. Jessie then took the win in the 3200 with Olivia placing 2nd. Both girls qualified for regionals in both events. Cameron Inglis won the 100 hurdles in a personal best time, and also ran a PR in the 300 hurdles where she placed 2nd. Rayna Yvars took 2nd in the pole vault and qualified for regionals, and added a 3rd place finish in the 100 hurdles. Erin Wilser placed in the top 3 in both hurdles races, taking 2nd in the 100 and 3rd in the 300.
