News: 4A Mideast Regional Championships

Congratulations to all the athletes we had competing in today's 4A Mideast Regional meet. Both teams came away with top 10 finishes, as the girls tied for 5th while the boys took 10th.

The girls' 4x800 relay team of Lauren Colberg, Erica Amatori, Monica Greene, and Mo McDonnell recorded the second fastest time in school history en route to a 2nd place finish to qualify for states. Rayna Yvars then took 4th in the pole vault and 3rd in the 100 hurdles to earn spots in both events at the state meet. Erica ran a personal best to place 3rd in the 1600. Emily Boesch was our final individual qualifier of the day, taking 4th in the 3200. The 4x400 relay team capped off the meet with a school-record performance to take the silver medal. The team of Mo, Lauren, Maya Worth, and Monica ran an outstanding time of 4:01.36.

On the boys' side, Ryan Walling qualified for both the 1600 and 800 for the second straight year. Ryan as 2nd in the 1600 and 4th in the 800. John Mangum recorded a new personal best height of 14'7" to win the pole vault. Will Hulbert placed 4th in the pole vault to qualify for the state meet as well.
