Congratulations to all the athletes who competed today at the 4A State Championship meet. We crowned a state champion, smashed two school records, and we had ten different athletes score points in the meet.

In the boys' meet, pole vaulter John Mangum became just the second state champion in the history of the boys' team, and the first field event champion in the history of the entire program. John achieved a new personal best height of 15'0" to clinch the gold medal. Will Hulbert concluded an outstanding pole vaulting season with a tie for 8th place. Ryan Walling placed 8th in the 1600, finishing up a very successful career in which he set new school records in both the 1600 and 3200 runs.

The girls' 4x800 relay started off the meet with a tremendous performance, finishing in 2nd place and knocking eight seconds off the school record. The team of Lauren Colberg, Erica Amatori, Olivia Enright, and Mo McDonnell recorded the 6th fastest time in state history and currently ranks in the top 15 in the country. In a remarkable feat, Olivia concluded her final state meet having qualified for every state championship in cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track throughout her entire four years at Green Hope. Rayna Yvars finished an impressive season in the pole vault by placing in a tie for 8th place. In the final running event of the day, the 4x400 relay team of Mo, Lauren, Maya Worth, and Monica Greene continued their hot streak with a 4th place finish and breaking the school record for the third straight meet. The girls also became the first 4x400 team in school history to crack the 4:00 barrier, running 3:58.47.

Congratulations to all the athletes on the entire team for a wonderful season!

See the results for the boys and girls.
