Congratulations to all sixteen athletes we had compete last night at the indoor state meet at UNC. Behind a loud cheering section of family, teammates, and friends, all the athletes performed extremely well.

On the boys' side, we had five athletes compete, all making their state meet debut. The boy's 4x800 relay team of Jonathan Arias, Miles Brown, Mahmoud Saad, and Corey Colberg set a new season best and recorded the 5th fastest indoor time in school history.

The girls' team put together an outstanding team performance, finishing in 3rd place in the final standings and just one point out of 2nd place. We placed in the top three in five different events, and recorded four new school records and one state meet record. The 4x800 relay team of Lauren Colberg, Erica Amatori, Sarah Alexander, and Mo McDonnell battled back from third place on the anchor leg to win the gold, breaking both state meet and school records in a thrilling finish. Erica then came back shortly after to grab the silver in the 1600, setting a new school record and recording the 9th fastest PR in state history. For the second straight year, Mo took 2nd in the 1000. Mo also set a new school record and ran the 7th fastest PR in state history. Erica's big day continued in the 3200 where she placed 3rd overall. In one of our gutsiest performances, Rayna Yvars made her first appearance since injuring her knee to set a new PR and take the silver medal in the pole vault. Rayna's effort of 11'6" is tied for sixth best in state history and is a new school record. In the final running event of the meet, the girls' 4x400 relay team of Kaylin Lang, Lauren, Erica, and Mo placed seventh to pick up two more team points.

Congratulations to all athletes on an outstanding season.
