We had some strong performances at today's Bojangle's Apex Lions Relays, highlighted by a meet record and winning performance from the 4x1600 relay team in the meet's first event. The girls finished sixth out of 33 teams while the boys placed 29th.

Alex Lewitt led the boys as he equaled his personal best and finished in a tie for sixth place in the pole vault. We also had seventh place finishes from the boys' distance medley and 4x1600 relay teams.

In the girls' 4x1600 relay, Emily Boesch led off with an outstanding leg of 5:23, battling two of the state's best distance runners. Emily kept us in striking distance of the two lead teams before handing off to Theresa Enright who brought us up to the lead by the end of her leg. Claire Nobles took over on the third leg, kept our lead, and then blew the race open with an outstanding finish, splitting 5:21. Jessie Rossabi ran anchor leg and slammed the door shut on the competition to lead the team to the win. The girls knocked 19 seconds off the meet record set by our girls' team at the 2010 meet. In the premier 100 hurdles, Rayna Yvars ran an outstanding race to take 5th in a very competitive field. Rayna's time of 15.69 once again sets a new school record. Erica Amatori followed with a new outdoor personal best of 5:04.17 in the 1600 to place 5th. Rayna grabbed a second medal by taking 3rd in the pole vault. Erica joined up with Claire, Theresa, and Jessie to placed 3rd in the 4x800, adding a second medal for each girl.
