The girls are sitting in second place after the first day of events at the Tri-9 Conference Championships, while the boys are tied for 5th place.

Mahmoud Saad led the way for the boys with a PR and regional-qualifying time in the 1600. He placed 4th in a very competitive field. While they did not score points, Tom Nobles and Corey Colberg both ran very strong personal best times. Umer Khan and Alex Lewitt added to the point total by tying for 5th place in the pole vault. We also had a 3rd place finish from the boys' 4x800 relay team of DeMario Williams, Will Jordan, Brad Pehr, and Jonathan Arias.

On the girls' side, our milers placed 2nd through 4th in the 1600. Erica Amatori took the silver while Theresa Enright and Shewit Weldense placed 3rd and 4th. Theresa's time was a new PR and she now holds the school freshman records in both the 1600 and 3200. Cassidey Sowards and Pauline Schwerbrock added 3rd place finishes in the discus and high jump respectively. We also had a 2nd place finish from the 4x800 relay team of Claire Nobles, Jessie Rossabi, Emily Boesch, and Lauren Colberg. We also picked up some important points in the 300 hurdles where Kristen McEnaney, Skye Massey, and Claire Belson all placed in the top eight to add to the team point total. In the 100 hurdle prelims, both Rayna Yvars and advanced to tomorrow's finals with two of the top four times from the preliminary heats.
