The boys' and girls' track and field teams began their season today on a very positive note, with both squads picking up wins in the season-opening dual meet. The boys won a tight 72-69 contest, while the girls enjoyed a comfortable 111-34 win.

Billy Murganti led the boys with three wins, taking first in both hurdle races as well as the high jump. Also picking up event wins were Alex Lewitt (pole vault), Eric O'Connell (discus), Kendrell Jones (long jump), and Will Gao (400 meters).

The girls' team had a very balanced win as 29 different athletes scored points. Zoe Early and Maya Worth led the way, picking up two individual wins each. Zoe won the pole vault and 200, while Maya took the 100 and 400. Other individual event winners included Skye Massey (100 hurdles), Kristen McEnaney (300 hurdles), Morgan Adams (3200), Pauline Schwerbrock (high jump), Tay'Lore Moore (shot put), and Cassidey Sowards (discus). Cassidey's discus effort set a new school record and qualified her for the regional meet. Other regional qualifiers included Skye (100 hurdles), Kristen Lospinoso, Theresa Enright, and Allie Worsdale (1600), Zoe (pole vault), and Tay'Lore (shot put).
