We had some very good performances yesterday at the Wake County Championships, including some new regional qualifiers.

Will Jordan and Mahmoud Saad became the first two regional qualifiers for the boys teams. Both guys placed in the top 8 in the 800 meters. Not long after, Tom Nobles recorded a personal best time in the 3200 meters, placing sixth and also qualifying for regionals.

Rayna Yvars led the girls with two third place finishes, earning bronze medals in the pole vault and 100 hurdles. Savannah Lips was our only other medalist of the weekend, placing third in the 3200. Taking 4th place were the 4x800 relay team, Zoe Early in the pole vault with an outdoor personal best, Cassidey Sowards in the discus, and Pauline Schwerbrock in the high jump. Sheridan Wood became our sixth girl to qualify for regionals in the 1600 meters this season with a big PR.
