News: Bojangle’s Apex Lions’ Relays

We had some strong performances yesterday at the annual Bojangle’s Apex Lions’ Relays, one of the best meets on our schedule every year. Our top finish on the day came in the day’s first event, the girls’ 4x1600 relay. The team of Kristen Lospinoso, Mo McDonnell, Sheridan Wood, and Katie Tomasi placed second. Rayna Yvars and Zoe Early placed 3rd and 4th respectively in the pole vault. The boys’ 4x800 relay team of Mahmoud Saad, Brad Pehr, Will Jordan, and Jonathan Bakley ran their best time of the season, placing 4th in a very strong field.
Also scoring points on the day:
- Cassidey Sowards in the discus. 5th place.
- Girls’ distance medley relay team of Lospinoso, McDonnell, Brianne Vasarhelyi, and Savannah Lips. 5th place.
- Girls’ 4x800 relay team of Kayla Hall, Tomasi, Julia Zwierzynski, and Wood. 7th place and improvement of regional qualifying mark.
- Guys’ 4x1600 relay team of Saad, Pehr, Tom Nobles, and Jordan. 7th place.
- Guys’ distance medley relay relay team of Henry Pehr, Will Gao, Corey Colberg, and Nobles. 8th place.
