The guys placed 5th and the girls 2nd at last week’s conference meet. We won conference titles in three different events and had six athletes make all-conference.

The boys’ 4x400 relay team of Will Jordan, Brad Pehr, Mahmoud Saad, and Will Gao took first place, while also improving their regional-qualifying time. All four guys earned all-conference honors by virtue of being conference champions. Mahmoud and Brad also placed 2nd and 3rd in the 800 meters, with both guys setting new PR’s. Eric O’Connell scored in both throwing events, taking 5th in the discus and 8th in the shopt put. Tom Nobles added a 6th place finish in the 3200 while setting a new PR. Brad, Mahmoud, and Will teamed with Jonathan Bakley to take 2nd in the 4x800 relay, while the 4x200 team of Will, Austin Jackson, Kwabena Sarpong, and Kendrell Jackson took 3rd.

Rayna Yvars led the girls with three medal-winning performances. Rayna captured gold in the 100 hurdles for the third straight year, along with silvers in the 300 hurdles and as a member of the 4x100 relay team with Maya Worth, Skye Massey, and Danyel de Souza. Rayna earned all-conference for the third straight year. Also earning all-conference was Mo McDonnell with a first place finish in the 800 meters. Several athletes finished as silver medalists, including Theresa Enright (3200), Pauline Schwerbrock (high jump), Zoe Early (pole vault), Cassidey Sowards (discus), and Tay’Lore Moore (shot put).
