Green Hope Track & Field

Several team members made the trip to New York City this past weekend to compete in the New Balance Nationals Indoor Championships. Competing as the Western Cary Track Club to accommodate state and national federation rules, the team once again recorded top-caliber performances. Leading the way was the boys sprint medley relay team of Kwabena Sarpong, Austin Jackson, Will Hoffman, and Henry Pehr. The guys placed 6th with a 3:31.02 in the championship division and earned All American honors! Elly Henes also had an outstanding performance, placing 10th in the championship 2-mile race. Elly's 10:38.92 was a new PR and the 4th fastest indoor 2-mile all-time for North Carolina.
