The Mighty Explorers Meet at JDL (12/04) saw the Falcons add several more state qualifiers. In the relays, the girls 4x800, boys 4x200, and girls 4x400 teams all easily hit qualifying marks. Individually, Alessandra Rodriguez, Sarah Taylor, and Samantha Kolor all ran PRs en route to qualifying in the 1600. Emily Jordan, Katie Tomasi, and Kayla Hall all qualified in the 1000. Although he just missed the qualifying mark, Blake Watson set a new school record in the 55 meter dash and is currently the state leader.

The team had very strong performances at the Wake County Meet (12/11) at JDL. Kayla Foy and Blake Watson both set new school records in the 55 meter dash, while Lindsey Eastwood set a new school record in the 500. Lindsey’s time qualified her for states, and Allison Williams also qualified in the 500. Allison’s time is 3rd fastest in school history. Blake added a qualifying time in the 300 meters.

At the NCRunners Holiday Invite (12/19), several Falcons posted top times. Jayquan Williams edged out teammate Henry Pehr in the 1000m (2:31.75 to 2:31.76) to get the school record and current #1 time in NC. Both came back to team with Will Hoffman and Blake Watson to win the 4x400m relay in another school record, NC #1 time, and one of the top times in the nation.
