News: Outstanding performances highlight week on the track

Green Hope had some outstanding performances last week. In the dual meet at Apex, Kayla Foy broke the school record in the 200m. She was then part of the school record-setting 4x100m relay along with Paige West, Carmen Curtis, and Mary Newby.

On Saturday at the Wake County Championships, the boys placed 2nd (to Southeast Raleigh, 88.5-86) and the girls 3rd (behind Southeast Raleigh and Wakefield). The following individuals and relays own titles:

  • Girls 4x800 relay – Allison Williams, Lindsey Eastwood, Alessandra Rodriguez, and Emily Jordan
  • Boys 4x800 relay – Ian Delgado, Matthew Kehn, Jayquan Williams, and Henry Pehr
  • Boys 1600 – Finn McBride
  • Boys 400 – Jayquan Williams
  • Girls 800 – Alessandra Rodriguez
  • Boys 800 – Henry Pehr
  • Boys 4x400 – Ian Delgado, Will Hoffmann, Jayquan Williams, and Henry Pehr

Additionally, Elly Henes took part in the prestigious Arcadia Invitational Saturday night in Southern California, racing the 3200m. She placed 8th in the highly competitive invitational section, setting a new PR and new school record (10:24).
