News: Falcons take off at Wake County Invitational

Falcons go into the holiday break spreading their wings with impressive performances at the Wake County Invitational

Green Hope's track and field team had 50 athletes compete in the Wake County Invitational at JDL FastTrack in Winston-Salem, NC.

Individual highlights included Kayla Gifford's 5th place in the Pole Vault, earning her Varsity Letter. Kayla PRed by a foot to a mark of 8'0". That mark ties Kayla at #1 NC for Freshmen Girls in the Pole Vault. Jordyn Parks placed 3rd in the 500m with a PR of 1:22.48. Jordyn's time is ranked #9 NC 4A in the 500m. Aubry Dreikosen won the high jump, setting a new indoor school record of 5'1". Aubry is ranked #5 NC 4A/#9 NC in the HJ. Sean Petersen won the 1600m with a PR of 4:29.23. His time ranks #3 NC 4A- #5/NC- #22 US in the 1600m. Earlier in the month, Sean ran a PR in the 1000m, winning the race in 2:36.17. Sean is ranked #2 NC 4A- #3/NC- #16 US in the 1000m. At this meet, Matthew Kehn won the 1000m with 2:35.57, taking over the top spot in NC (and is #11 US). Lindsey Eastwood won the 500m with 1:18.74, which ranks #3 NC4A/#5 NC/#10 US in the 500m.

In the relays, the team of Christopher Mondie, Michael Biddle, Austin Snyder, and Sean Petersen won the boys 4x400m Relay in 3:34.23, which is ranked #3 NC 4A/#4 NC. The girls 4x400 team of Taylor Brown, Jordyn Parks, Lily Redick, and Lindsey Eastwood won their race with 4:09.38(#3 NC 4A/ #4 NC/#19 US).
